About this live view
Maasai Mara
This live camera shows Mara River Main Crossing in Maasai Mara, Kenya.
Each year, massive herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move between the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara, and Main Crossing is where the pressure builds, the herds gather, and the river becomes a stage for one of nature’s most intense survival events. This is the heart of the Great Wildebeest Migration.
Maasai Mara, sometimes also spelt Masai Mara and locally known simply as The Mara, is a large national game reserve in Narok County, Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It is named in honour of the Maasai people, the ancestral inhabitants of the area, who migrated to the area from the Nile Basin.
