The station house on the left side is of Hokuriku Shinkansen, and the right side is of old railroad line running parallel. Hokuriku Shinkansen is a high-speed shinkansen railway line connecting Tokyo and Kanazawa.

Kanazawa is the capital of Ishikawa Prefecture in central Japan. As of 1 January 2018, the city had an estimated population of 466,029 in 203,271 households, and a population density of 990 persons per km2.
